Fort Scott Public Library offers an early literacy program: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten! Sign up here. Children from birth through kindergarten are invited to participate.
Upon registration via phone or in person, participants can choose to track reading on the Reader Zone app or website, or to use a paper log. Each complete reading of a story that the child hears counts toward their 1,000 books, and participants receive a sticker, free picture book, and a photo on our Wall of Fame at each 100-book milestone.
Call, message, or visit us for more information on this exciting program. You may also visit this link: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten for more information or to install a free app, helpful for tracking books read. Join the program and improve your child’s chance of success today! We now offer a hybrid version of this program. You may do it all online if you prefer, or mix and match how you participate (some in-person options and some online).
