Tails and Tales
Register for summer reading online here and plan to pick up a Kickoff Party in a bag near the end of May at curbside pickup. You may also register via a paper form, provided in the welcome packet. Pickup dates to be announced.
This year’s summer reading program will run from June 1 – August 17. The majority of this year’s summer reading program will be virtual. However, at this time, we will plan to award reading prizes and provide some activities, crafts, and paper reading logs as a curbside pickup option. Every Friday, we will reward completion of reading goals and challenges with prizes, which can be picked up by calling 620-223-2882 and scheduling a time for pickup. Even if your child does not earn an award, they may still receive a craft & activity packet through our pickup service. The youth summer reading program is for kids ages Birth – 12th grade.
Storytelling videos are offered live on Zoom or pre-recorded on Facebook and YouTube. Live Preschool Zoom stories will air at 10 am on Tuesdays. Elementary stories will start at 11 am on Tuesdays.
Craft demonstration videos will air on YouTube and Facebook at TBD. Guest readers and craft demonstrators will appear in the videos, and Miss Val will host the live Zoom events, with special guests reading (depending on volunteer availability). Every Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm, Miss Val will host a live, online teen event for 6th – 12th graders, and teens may receive activity packets and participation rewards through curbside pickup too.
The calendar below and our Facebook events page will have listings for all live summer reading events. We hope to offer in-person activity & prize packet pickups at a minimum of every other week.
Please contact us at (620) 223-2882 or email Miss Val at firstname.lastname@example.org with any further questions. To check out our latest event news, see our Facebook Events Page.
