We’re back!! The Library has re-opened. We’re still not 100% done, since we still have some furniture that hasn’t arrived yet & some planning on additional furnishings.
With the new electrical system, library patrons are welcome to plug in their devices (laptops, phones, what have you)! There are outlets available in the computer room, as well as in the upstairs seating area. The free wi-fi is up and running, and should have a stronger signal than before!
You may now bring in beverages (even at the computers), provided it has a sealable lid (such as 20oz bottles). Fountain drinks, open cans & capless bottles are still not allowed. Snacks are welcome, provided they are not messy snacks (so no Sloppy Joe’s, pizza, or the like please). If there are any spills or such, please let the library staff know as soon as possible.
There’s also a new public restroom available upstairs (there’s still one downstairs, too).
Here you can see our temporary solution to our new chairs being delayed.
And here’s the new chairs!
Part of the new children’s library. Some of the rest can be seen in the 2nd picture above, inside the area with the curved shelving.
The downstairs hallway. Though, it’s so open now that it almost can’t be called a hallway (at least around the clerk desk).
The new computer room, all together & now with 8 computers! Formerly, we had only 7 and they were split between upstairs & down.
The event room. In addition to hosting our weekly story time for kids (every Tuesday at 10am), it’ll also be available for public use.
Our employee offices. We were still unpacking & sorting at this point. It’s much more organized now. For the moment.
We’ve since had all our blinds installed (each window required it’s own custom blind!). We’re still waiting on the blinds for the upper arched portion of the windows.
Be sure to check back in the coming weeks, as we’ll have some more pictures once the rest of our furnishings arrive. And thank you to everyone for your patience during this project!
