We’re in the process of moving! We now have everything we’re going to have over at Memorial Hall (where we’ll be through January at least), and the rest in storage. We’ve still got a lot of work to do to get us up and running again, though. Since our computers were for the most part unavailable as we transferred them & the services over, we haven’t been able to post updates until now (plus we’ve all been really busy!). Sorry about that, but below you’ll see some ‘Before’ pictures, and some of the results of week 1 of our moving efforts!
Before that, the Library would like to thank the City of Fort Scott for providing us with our temporary home while we remodel, Landmark Bank for providing us with storage space for 400+ boxes of books, and the Cooke family for their invaluable assistance during the move (seriously, I don’t think we could have done it without you)!
First though, here’s the area we’ll be moving into:
Now for the before & work in progress photos:
The upstairs computer area as it was.
POOF! They’re all gone… (They’re not REALLY gone, just boxed up for moving)
Upstairs, still with books on the shelves.
The children’s library.
During the disassembly of many shelves.
Most of the packed up children’s story time supplies! Which the amazing Miss Val managed to box up far more quickly than we had thought possible!
We’ll post more pictures on Monday with the results of week 2 of our move.
